Wakinyan (Thunder Being) was born April 15, 2002 and he came to the WMS on April 29, 2002. He was 14 days old and weighed 2 lbs. His sister Shanta Wanagi and another pup that we named Wana Chikal arrived with him.
These pups had to be hand fed every two hours to be kept alive. They were not in good condition. Wakinyan was rescued from a wolf breeder that couldn't sell him, so he came to WMS. He would have been put to sleep if WMS didn’t take him.
Wakinyan is
very friendly and bold and learning to interact with people everyday. He is very
rambunctious especially during feeding time. Wakinyan lives with Shanta Wanagi currently. Wana used to live with them but they were mean to her so we split the compound and she lives on the other side now. Wakinyan is a joy to have here at WMS and loves to eat watermelon, peaches and knuckle bones. He is very special to all the staff at WMS.
Wakinyan is
now a six years old and weighs about 150 lbs.
