Tamaka (Spirit Warrior)

Tamaka Tamaka Tamaka

Tamaka (Spirit Warrior), is a Canadian Tundra Wolf and like Niosha (his deceased mate), he came to the WMS on May 1, 1996 and he was 4 weeks old and was very shy.  Tamaka was born on April 7, 1996.  Standing proud and tall as an adult, he is photographed often. He weighs approximately 180 lbs.  Tamaka's shyness could be compared to wolves in the wild. His amber eyes will sing a song in your heart.  Tamaka weighed 10 pounds when he came to us and now he weighs 170 pounds.  He always had to drink his bottle first.  When Tamaka would drink his bottle he would make a humming noise and  when he was done he wanted to be held to be burped, then he would fall asleep in Tonya’s lap.  He was a real momma's boy.  Niosha and Tamaka were mates and did not like to ever be separated, now Tamaka is alone until he is reunited with Niosha one day.  He is having a very hard time without her and is howling in grief.  Tamaka has always been shy of men. When a group of people visits he hides.  If you sit down next to his compound he may approach if you are very still.  After he gets to know you keep your shoes away from the fence, he has been known to pull a few sandals thru the fence :).  After we get larger compounds, he will be more outgoing.  Tamaka is one our Healing wolves.  He is very special to the Native American's,  they believe that wolves are our spirit brothers.  Some carry the healing power. Tamaka is very special to WMS.  Tamaka really loves his chicken and red meat,  he eats 10 pounds a day in the summer and more in the winter. He  loves treats like Sausages, Peaches, Knucklebones, Apples and any other goodies you want to bring. Tamaka always wants Tonya or special people to talk to and pet him. When a healing is happening a spirit warrior appears on his head.
