Shanta Wanagi (Sacred Heart Angel)

Shanta Wanagi (Sacred Heart Angel) came to the WMS on April 29, 2002.  She was 14 days old.  Shanta was born April 15, 2002.  Shanta weighed 2 pounds and came with her brother Wakinyan.  Tonya had to bottle-feed the cubs every few hours to keep them alive. Shanta was rescued from a wolf breeder.   Shanta is very friendly and loving and is learning to interact with people everyday. She is very loving and sweet.  Shanta Wanagi lives with Wakinyan and Wana Chikal her sister and brother who were rescued from the same breeder.  Shanta is usually the first to greet visitors who enter their compound but does it very slowly.  She loves to give you wolf kisses and sometimes gets a little rough when she is excited.  Shanta loves to shake paws as does Wakinyan and Wana.  Just like Wakinyan her dark coat is turning brownish gray.  Shanta is very petite and you can tell she is a girl. Shanta Wanagi is a joy to have here at WMS and loves to eat watermelon, peaches and knuckle bones. She especially loves a squeaky toy and carries it around with her.  She is very special to all the staff at WMS.
