Niwah (Little Bear Sprit Walker)
Niwah
(Ne-wah) (which means Little Bear Spirit Walker)
is a purebred Gray Wolf. Niwah was born March 24,
2001. She was nine weeks old when we got her and is now 3 years old a real beauty. A friend who breeds wolves for the movie industry gave “Niwah” to us so
Apache Moon would no longer be lonely. “Niwah” rode
home on a volunteer's lap, but her little tummy didn’t like the ride one bit and she got sick.
When we introduced her to Apache Moon he was so happy. Too bad we didn't have a video
recorder to record the meeting of the two wolves. Niwah was originally going to be the new "Ambassador" and was being trained by
Apache for appearances in the public, but Niwah did not like traveling or leaving her home here at
WMS. She now lives with Blue and they are mates. They love each
other. Niwah was very shy in the beginning but loves visitors and interacts with them
well. She is fascinated with human hair and likes to pull it,
be careful :)). Niwah is a joy to have here and loves to eat carrots. Click
